After more than two decades, an era in the ICT channel is coming to an end: cop agent will be discontinued on 30 November 2025. The software, which served many system houses and ICT resellers as a reliable tool for procurement and product research, will be fully replaced by the ITscope platform in the future.
From idea to established solution
The cop agent was created over 20 years ago by Arnd Villwock and Hermann Mertens. Their vision was to develop software that radically simplifies the procurement process for system houses and increases transparency. This goal made the cop agent a key player in the ICT channel.
Since ITscope's acquisition of cop in 2020, both companies and their teams have grown together step by step. Almost all former cop employees remain on board, contributing their expertise to the platform. “From the very beginning, we saw the merger of cop and ITscope as an opportunity to bring the best ideas and experiences of both teams into a shared vision. Now the time has come to pool all our strengths into one platform that will strengthen the channel in the long term,” explains Benjamin Mund, co-founder and Managing Director of ITscope.
